Must Have Baby Products
There are a ton of baby products out there and it can be tough to decide where to start. Let me tell you the one thing I have learned is take your time. Creating a baby registry is a great way to start your journey into parenthood regardless of your budget because companies give you incentives for doing so. The registry completion discount alone makes it worth my while to create a baby registry each time I have a child because there is always newer and better baby products hitting the market!
This isn’t my first time bringing a new baby home and I still find new must have baby products to love! Some baby basics are set in stone and I just replaced them with newer models throughout the years. Having more kids made me want to simplify our baby items and so today I am sharing some of my newer favorite baby products!
Convertible Crib
Buying things that serve multiple purposes is a must especially when it comes to big ticket items. For our big family, the kids share rooms and the baby typically stays in our master bedroom until they are able to get in and out on their own. They start sleeping with a basinet bedside and then transition into a crib once the night feedings spread out. Currently we have this beautiful Equinox convertible crib from Storkcraft that checked all our boxes and has a modern design that I love.
Easy to assemble
Everything you need is inside the box! No extra tools and easy to follow directions made this a crib easy to assemble even when I was 36 weeks pregnant.
Easy to push
We got this for my son 2 years ago and I loved the beautiful modern design. Plus it has held up beautifully for baby #8 coming this summer.
Easy to convert
With a few simple steps this beautiful crib converts into a nice toddler bed!
Car Seat/Stroller
One of the toughest choices IMO is choosing the right car seat for your new baby. There are a ton of options out there but only one that can convert from car seat to stroller with the push of a button. As a busy mom on the go I find it is so much easier than trying to lug a car seat with a baby inside out of the car or transferring a baby from the car seat into a stroller. This frees up trunk space and is super convenient but it does come at a price. The Doona car seat/stroller is on the expensive side but if you can afford it, I thought it was must have baby item for the first year and a half before my son grew out of it. Since I knew we would be having more babies we have now used it for 2 kiddos. 6 years is the recommended time frame in which you replace it based off the manufacturers date.

Nursing Pillow
One of my all time favorite new baby items has been this Snuggle Me Organics nursing pillow. I’ve had a few nursing pillows over the years as it is a staple for any new parent! Those late night feedings just wouldn’t be possible without a good nursing pillow. The unique moon shape design of this one has kept my baby in the right position, comfortable and freed up both of my arms.
Baby Monitor
Another must have baby item is this baby monitor from Owelet. I love that it is a video and sensor that communicates to my iphone. The sensor sock gave me peace of mind and paired with the video baby monitor it really did reduce my stress in the early newborn days. Previously I had a sensor pad that we put under the baby mattress but after the first baby it just wasn’t as reliable nor convenient to travel with.

Convertible Playpen
Buying things that serve multiple purposes is a must especially when it comes to big ticket items. For our big family, the kids share rooms and the baby typically stays in our master bedroom until they are able to get in and out on their own. They start sleeping with a basinet bedside and then transition into a crib once the night feedings spread out. Currently we have this beautiful Equinox convertible crib from Storkcraft that checked all our boxes and has a modern design that I love.
Easy to use
In just a few simple clicks this playpen is ready for use! I love that it lies on the floor so it can grow with your baby and well into their toddler years.
Easy to travel
We first got this for our newly turned 2 year old and he loved it. I loved how easy it was to fold up and place into it’s carrying case. Plus it was easy to travel with since it had backpack straps.
Easy to convert
I was excited to see that Guava family offered a basinet option! All you have to do is zip off the top to convert it into a basinet for baby.
Baby Lounger
Another new baby item this time around has been this Snuggle Me Organics baby lounger. I’ve never had one before and I have to admit I do wonder why not? I love how easy it is to move around the house with me and having a safe spot to place baby down wherever we are. The sturdy plastic bag it comes in makes it easy to bring with us when we travel too! My toddler even loved it and I have been contemplating getting the bigger toddler sized lounger for him to lounge around the house with new baby.
Baby Carrier
I have always owned a traditional baby carrier such as babybjorn and ergobaby. The last time around I received a loop carrier from Solly baby and loved it! It has a little bit of learning curve but once you get it then it is super comfy and grows with your baby. Being able to utilize the same loop carrier for more than one kid meant I did not have to pack two carriers for trips which is a win win for this mama of 7. Solly loop carrier tutorial – here
Hands Free Pump
I have always owned a breast pump. I’ve been blessed with 7 babies and another on the way but with a couple years in between insurance coverage has allowed me to change out my breast pumps for each baby. My last baby I decided to try the Elvie hands free breast pump and it was a game changer! No restrictions due to cords or sitting next to outlets. This was a new must have baby product that was worth the price in my opinion especially since insurance covered most of the cost. The Elvie stride was 100% covered and also hands free but you have to pocket the small control panel in a packet. Check out Elvie pumps and if your insurance covers some or all of the cost!
