Check out these six cleaning uses for lemon juice and vinegar:

1. Cleansing Callused Hands

If you have calluses on your hands from working with tools or doing yard work, make a lemon juice and vinegar mixture to help soften them!  Simply mix equal parts lemon juice and vinegar in a bowl and soak your hands in the mixture for 15 minutes. Then, use a pumice stone to scrub away the calluses.

2. Freshening Up Your Garbage Disposal

Lemon juice and vinegar can also be used to freshen your garbage disposal. Simply mix equal parts of lemon juice and vinegar (1/2 cup of each) and pour it down the drain. Turn on the disposal and let it run for a few minutes. The acidity of the lemon juice and vinegar will help remove any build-up in the disposal and leave it smelling fresh. Remember to contact licensed blocked drain experts if you need professional help though.

3. Cleaning Microwaves

Microwaves can be difficult to clean because food tends to splatter everywhere when you heat something up. But, lemon juice and vinegar can help make cleaning your microwave a breeze. Simply mix equal parts lemon juice with vinegar (1/4c each) in a bowl and place it in the microwave. Turn on the microwave for 3 minutes and then let the mixture sit in the microwave for 5 minutes. The steam will loosen any food splatters and all you have left to do is to wipe the grease and food away for a clean microwave.

4. Removing Soap Scum

Lemon juice and vinegar can also be used to remove soap scum from showers and tubs. Simply mix equal parts lemon juice and vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz it on the soap scum. Let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub it away with a sponge or brush.

5. Cleaning Carpet Stains

Lemon juice and vinegar can also be used to clean carpet stains. Simply mix equal parts lemon juice with vinegar (1/4 c)  in a bowl and apply it to the stain with a sponge. Let it sit for a few minutes and then blot the stain with a clean cloth. Repeat this process until the stain is gone.

6. Cleaning Windows and Mirrors

Lemon juice and vinegar can also be used to clean windows and mirrors. Simply mix 1/4 cup of lemon juice with 1/4 cup of vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz it on the window or mirror. Then, use a clean cloth to wipe away the grime.
